Hello this is an amazing blog but the study links don't show as pictures like the other blogs, do you know how to fix that? (Just noticed you were online in the study!)

Something weird happened to that study, the positions just wouldn't show up in the blog post, so I had to create a new one. It should be fixed now.

Have had a similar imbalances (3 pieces + 2R vs Q+2R) against a 2100 fide player (white)

, this was roughly the position and after Nxc3 Qxc3 I played Nxd4, the imbalance was definitely unique, but both of us made many mistakes after

Interesting that White took on d4 with the queen (which I assume is what happened). They could've played Qa5 instead, which would lead to a different kind of unusual imbalance: two pieces vs a rook and two pawns after Nxf3+ and Bxa1, with probably a roughly equal position. But you also didn't have to go for it you were already doing really well, and this combination in a way justified White's awkward queen position on b2. But sill, thanks for sharing - I love positions with such unusual material imbalances.

I had thought white would play that too, but I think he wanted to try to play 3 minor pieces vs a queen, which to be fair, happens so rarely. In the actual game, he was able to maneuver his pieces (like the game in the blog and achieved a somewhat winning position but time trouble spoiled it all away)

Reminds me of one of my own games where I sacrificed a queen for only 2 bishops (!) after my opening play had been horrible. We reached a 2R+Q vs 2R+2B middlegame (and a lot of pawns) but somehow I managed to activate both my bishops and both of my rooks to penetrate deep into my opponent's camp with all of the 4 the pieces that I had. He brought his king out in the open to prevent a rook invasion but it turned out to be the decisive blunder after he was then forced to make 8 king moves in a row... very memorable game!

And it was quite a serious classical game as well, it was in a team competition where board 3 and 4 had lost very quickly already so board 1 and 2 were in a must-win situation (we both pulled it off!)
