Can't communicate with opponent on Analysis Board

In the last week or so, I have not been able to chat with opponents on the Analysis Board. Someone said that I may have been shadow-banned, but when I go to the Appeal page, it says that there are no issues with my account. Would appreciate help with this issue, thanks.

Have been in discussion with TimothyHa, who has been a moderator. He has had some discussions, and now there is an internal note with the moderators. The conclusion was that it may need programmers to have a look. Has the account status somehow been corrupted? Has a temporary block been applied for some other reason? (Rating is being updated after games).

Maybe there is / has been a technical issue. So its important to offer some information about your used device like OS, App or browser including version and so on.

Its difficult to reproduce or analyse the problem after a week, but i can see some of your games with a conversation.

@GoneNowhere Do you mean you were able to use the chat after the game was finished ?

I see the chat is in the analysis view but if you write something, it is not shared (nothing specific to you)

What I normally do after the game is chat briefly with the opponent in the chatroom. Then, of course, I go to the analysis board and see what the engine says, and have further chat, etc. The chatroom functionality is fine at that stage. In the analysis board, I see the comments already posted by spectators. However when I post my comments there, I may or may not see them, and I can't have any further dialogue. I don't see any new comments.

This was a recent game -

. I may be doing something dumb, of course, not using the software as intended. Thanks for any help.

@viohl you asked about OS etc. I use Windows and Chrome. Normally I play on an old desktop, which probably doesn't have full support. I have a game today and I will play on my laptop, which is much newer and more up-to-date. Maybe that will work. After the game I will provide an update, and also the version numbers of OS and Chrome.

When you play, you have the game chat where players (and only them) can communicate.

When the game is finished, you still have the game chat (same as above)

But, when you click 'analysis board' you have the spectator room where anybody can communicate (you don't have access to the game chat there)

If you want to chat with the opponent again, you both have to click on the game in your profiles (you can resume the chat there)

I checked that it has always been like that

You can open 'analysis board' in a new tab or a new window to keep the chat room at hand.

I don't use chat, so I don't really have an opinion ... but if you find there is an issue or a limitation, please share

@fredo599 . Thanks for the comments. What I usually do is have some chat with the opponent immediately after the game, then click on the analysis room tab, and have further discussion with the opponent and spectators, looking at the engine analysis.

There is an update on the symptoms. I switched to a newer PC (use Windows / Chrome), and now things work better - for a while. I have been able to chat in the analysis room with my opponent (and spectators) after the game. BUT after a few minutes I get dropped off, and so does my opponent.

was one game.

was the other.

jviktorov said that he lost his connection at the same time as me (DM's after the game). So seems to be some sort of network issue!?!?
