What about 1 e4 e6 ? About a century ago, it seemed to be the primary alternative to 1 e4 e5.
The French? Interesting... Let's say that it's passive for me, but... suitable for u maybe?

During most of my active period, I went for 1 e4 c6,`but I was surprised to not see any mention of 1 e4 e6 in this discussion and wanted to make sure that there was awareness of the option.

Many decades ago, I made an attempt to learn about it, but it was soon apparent that I was not ready for such a project.

I e4 c6 is the possibility that I know the most about. If I were somehow in an important game right now, I suppose that I would go for 1 e4 c6. If I were somehow to undertake to become an active player again, I like to think that (at long last) I would seek to have an acceptable understanding of 1 e4 e5.

Well... Whenever I play games in Lichess... My mouse always moves to the c7-square... Then 1. c6 responds the 1. e4... The Caro-Kann... I feel that it became my natural thing to do in Lichess...
