In French the bishop is a "Fou" which is like a court jester, while in Dutch and German the bishop is a "Loper" or "Laufer" which means runner.
In Spanish "chess" is different. It's called "Ajedrez" which comes from chaturanga to chatranj to ajedrez.

I did not know the origin of the French words.
I was told that in Hungarian, bishop is also "runner."
Interesting about Spanish--I knew that German and Hungarian have chess as "Shach" and "Sakk" which is from Shah. It is a fascinating subject to cover chess terms in other languages, even though I only covered English in this blog.

Hi @Lokisai
Glad to hear that!
I wrote a blog a few weeks ago about the most important things imo, you can find it here: https://adjva4.dpdns.org/@/ebk1976/blog/views-or-value/7EoJwZXo
Besides the tips listed above, just don't be too scared to put your ideas out there! Lichess also has a great article: https://adjva4.dpdns.org/page/blog-tips#:~:text=With%20these%20few%20simple%20rules%2C%20you%20will%20learn,them%20Heading%203%20smaller%20title%21%20Keep%20it%20simple.
If you've read these, you should be ready to go! Just don't expect your first blog to blow up. For me, it was my 5th blog that really blew out of the water. Good luck!

In Persian, the Queen is called Wazier/Vizier which would translate to (Prime) Minister. I wonder what has caused these different names for the same piece.

"Fou" wich comes from the arabic word "Fil" meaning elephant.
I think in russian, they still call it "slon" wich also translates as "elephant"
