There are no barriers to women playing chess. The only barrier is inside your head. The room was not made for men, it was made for chess players. Stop letting this divisiveness creep into chess. You're letting ideology dictate how you experience the world. When you let that go, you free yourself from anxiety and stress so that you can face the anxiety and stress that the rest of us face without borrowing trouble.

@WuraolaA I honestly believe that your post, your story and your message make Chess as a whole a better, more beautiful game. Thank you for writing it. I wish and hope your message will have a broader reach move after move, game after game.

Not sure whether this is meant as a troll post or whether you genuinely think there are no barriers to women playing chess.

Some background:

Women in chess have historically faced barriers including not being allowed to compete in the world championships or in traditionally "men's tournaments". They also have faced, and still do face, sexism, discrimination, harassment, and even assault at OTB tournaments just for being female and wanting to play chess.

an example of the kind of things female chess players can face in the male-dominated chess world in OTB chess:

and an example of the things women chess players face online:

The barrier is not "inside her head", it is real, and I think you know this too.

I agree with you women in general don't get chances to play in open tournaments and thus their rating increase relatively slow they have to grind their way up. I recently learnt that FIDE once patnered with a "breast transplant" company, this shocked me, its a total disrespect to all women in chess.

While I don't know the details of this partnership, I can tell you that a lot of women need breast surgery for medical reasons. (and others are free to do with their body whatever they want).
