I played a tough game that made it look like I was winning. My opponent resigned when it was technically drawn. The computer points out that I should have played Ka5 instead of Kc5. It says Ka5 is winning, but it looks like it is a draw. I'm not sure. Can someone help?

How do you attach a game to your post like that?

Well, yeah. If you play it out you can see you end up trading the two blocked pawns for a passed pawn if you go Ka5 instead of Kc5 on move 34. That pawn ends up traded for his rook and so it's winning. But I shouldn't have to explain that to you, as you're a 2200, so why can't you just see that already?

@jiesen
I eventually did find the win, but at first I thought black could draw.
This is one of my weaknesses. I have studied many different endgames except the most important one. That is the more complicated rook endings with more pawns. I know the more fundamental ones, which is why this game ends with the white king standing in front of the rook and behind the passed pawn to prevent checks.
Most of my studies are on openings. This helps me to get an advantage early on, and many opponents collapse in the middlegame. If they put up stubborn resistance, then sometimes I fail to convert the win. If I converted the full point more consistently, then I would be a titled player.
This is what I need to work on.

Ah gotcha. I'm the opposite to you. I fail on most games because my opening game is weak. I have never studied openings because it seems boring to me to memorize all those situations, and wasted effort, in the likely even that I just forget what I memorized. I focus mainly on the tactics, and recently have been working on endgame strategy. Once I get those down well enough, I suppose then I'll begin to study the openings. For now though, I recognize that people just crush me at the open, but I enjoy fighting back with tactics to come from behind and win sometimes.

@jiesen
Think of your opening repertoire like a gradually building process. Nobody remembers everything.
I did a lot of studies in all kinds of openings. I did a lot of computer analysis and did my best to understand the strategy while applying my own understanding in various positions.
After about 6-8 months you should pretty confident in all kinds of openings.
I still struggle with the catalan, the grunfeld, the benko/benoni, maybe a couple of variations of the Sicilian but for the most part I'm confident. I found that I enjoy e4 more than d4 because white is better in so many lines.
I definitely still struggle with black. I lose more games and I am still working on e4 as black. There are a lot of positions I don't like. This is part of a long gradual learning process that builds on itself. Dont rush and don't try to memorize everything. Nobody can do that.
