I have the lichess logo on my launcher with a tiny little chrome icon. I always assumed that it was just a shortcut to a URL, but I guess it's a "PWA." I learned a new term today!

The newest versions of Chrome will actually install an app. The icon will then not feature the tiny chrome icon.

Other browsers instead will have the behavior that you describe.

So you're happy with the current app on Android but you're worried about Google 'hooking into' your data if Lichess used Flutter? Presumably you run AOSP and don't have any GMS or Play store apps running on your device?

The current mobile application is awesome. I am very impressed by all the features it includes. It is missing a few features like puzzle storm, but it is already very impressive. Congratulation to the developers.
