My favourite Chess Movie is 'The Queen of Katwe. It was made by Disney in 2016 and told a true and very accurate story about Ugandan Woman Candidate Master Phiona Mutesi and her mentor. Robert Katende. She was born and grew up in Katwe, a slum and in absolute poverty with her family income of less than US$3.00 per day. Through chess Phiona travelled around Africa and the World (Chess Olympiads). Some of the images are very sad and confronting but it has a good feeling and happy ending. The acting is very good and at the end the movie, the actors and the real people they portrayed were described and hugged each other. Her FIDE rating is approximately 1650.

There's an excellent one called Computer Chess from 2013 but it's not for everyone.
The Seventh Seal? The Mystery of Chessboxing? Er, War Games? (Clutching at straws there - "how about a nice game of chess?")

I liked that movie, but I don't remember it very well :X
"THE QUEEN'S GAMBIT" on Netflix was the only best movie on chess I saw.
