the mods should check tournament games for cheaters

It is very frustrating. I can tell when my opponent is using a computer, too. Not that hard to do. You gotta love the guys that drop a pawn on move two then go on to find incredible mating patterns later. There are just so many ways for these guys to cheat that I know it must be very difficult to catch them.

It does ruin those games for me. Anymore when this happens I just send a chat saying "I prefer humans". LOL, what can I do?

A 1600 player should not play like a master. But some of them do.

Nice to rant about this stuff but have very little idea of how to fix it.

Like you I keep playing on Lichess because I like it here but good grief there are a lot of cheaters.

The blunder/bad play followed by long stretches of excellent play does seem obviously suspicious.. Not impossible I suppose but if a non-GM level player has this strong trend in a high enough percentage of games it seems to me that cheating is highly probably, perhaps even near-certain.
