Impossible to Win... But Lichess didn't call it a draw.

https://adjva4.dpdns.org/bIm85MUvl1eE

This game confused me so much. Look at the ending position. The pawns restrict the kings from coming forward, and this game is impossible to win, but, Lichess didn't call it a draw. (Also, if this is an obvious answer to you, please don't criticize me, I am only a kid.

Well lichess didn't call it a draw because time is a factor in blizt chess someone could flag and lose the game. In these positions the three fold repetition and 50 move rules apply

@Adityasureshchess a draw happens if:

  1. No material on the board for a forced mate
  2. Stalemate
  3. 3 fold repetition
  4. 50 move rule.
  5. Agreement

Let us check:

  1. Enough material. There are pawns on the board.
  2. If you repeat the position 3 times it should be automatic a draw. But you offered the draw after exchaging the bishops.
  3. Probably you will get the 2. Before this rule.
  4. You offered draw.

Here as there is material on the board, the game continues, till the further rules can be applied.

I hope this helps.

It‘s FIDE draw after move 46 but this cannot be coded by easy means.

Case closed.

yeah impossible for i think the server to recognize it - or even in tournament u would have call to the TD over to claim a draw in USCF rules I think
