Damas y caballeros, jugadores, entrenadores, autoridades, familiares y amigos:
Es para nosotros un verdadero honor dar la bienvenida a todos ustedes al Campeonato de Ajedrez Chess.org Mundial, un espacio donde se encuentran no solo los talentos emergentes y consagrados del ajedrez, sino también la pasión, la disciplina y el respeto que este noble deporte representa.
El ajedrez es mucho más que un juego. Es una escuela de vida. Nos enseña a pensar antes de actuar, a planificar con visión, a aceptar la derrota con humildad y a celebrar la victoria con respeto. Cada partida es una batalla silenciosa en la que la inteligencia, la estrategia y la paciencia se convierten en nuestras mejores armas.
Hoy se enfrentan aquí personas de distintas edades, niveles y trayectorias, pero todos con un objetivo común: dar lo mejor de sí mismos, disfrutar del juego y representar con orgullo sus colores, sus instituciones o su propio esfuerzo personal.
Queremos agradecer a quienes han hecho posible este evento: organizadores, árbitros, voluntarios, patrocinadores y, por supuesto, a las familias que acompañan a nuestros jugadores. Sin ustedes, nada de esto sería posible.
A los participantes:
Cada movimiento que hagan en este tablero reflejará horas de estudio, dedicación y pasión. Jueguen con honor, con valentía, y sobre todo, con el espíritu deportivo que nos une.

Ladies and gentlemen, players, coaches, officials, family, and friends:
It is a true honor for us to welcome you all to the Chess.org World Chess Championship, a space where not only emerging and established chess talents meet, but also the passion, discipline, and respect that this noble sport represents.
Chess is much more than a game. It is a school of life. It teaches us to think before acting, to plan with foresight, to accept defeat with humility, and to celebrate victory with respect. Each game is a silent battle in which intelligence, strategy, and patience become our greatest weapons.
Today, people of different ages, levels, and backgrounds compete here, but all with a common goal: to give their best, enjoy the game, and proudly represent their colors, their institutions, or their own personal efforts.
We would like to thank those who made this event possible: organizers, referees, volunteers, sponsors, and, of course, the families who accompany our players. Without you, none of this would be possible.
To the participants:

Reglamento del Campeonato de Ajedrez Chess.org Mundial
1. Sistema de Juego
El torneo se jugará bajo el sistema Eliminación directa a 10 rondas.
El emparejamiento será realizado con software homologado por la FIDE (por ejemplo, Swiss Manager o Vega).
Todos los jugadores deberán presentarse 10 minutos antes del inicio de cada ronda.
2. Ritmo de Juego
El ritmo de juego será de 25 minutos + 10 segundos de incremento por jugada por jugador.
Se aplicará el reloj digital; en caso de no disponibilidad, se usará reloj analógico.
3. Reglas de Ajedrez
El torneo se regirá por las Reglas de Ajedrez de la FIDE en Español.
Está prohibido hablar, hacer gestos o distraer al oponente durante la partida.
No se permite el uso de teléfonos móviles, relojes inteligentes u otros dispositivos electrónicos durante la partida. Cualquier infracción podrá significar la pérdida de la partida.
4. Puntaje
Victoria: 1 punto
Empate: 0.5 puntos
Derrota: 0 puntos
5. Desempates (si aplica)
En caso de empate en la clasificación final, se aplicarán los siguientes sistemas de desempate, en el orden indicado:
Buchholz (suma de puntuación de los oponentes)
Buchholz Mediano (sin el mejor y peor oponente)
Resultado particular entre los jugadores empatados
Mayor cantidad de victorias
Sorteo
6. Comportamiento y Penalizaciones
Cualquier acto antideportivo, comportamiento irrespetuoso o trampa será sancionado.
El árbitro principal tiene la autoridad para amonestar, sancionar o descalificar a un jugador en caso necesario.
7. Derechos de Imagen
La organización podrá tomar fotos y videos durante el evento para uso promocional y difusión.
La participación en el torneo implica la aceptación de este punto, salvo que se indique expresamente lo contrario por escrito.
8. Premios
Se entregarán premios a los primeros clasificados y, en su caso, menciones especiales por categoría (mejor juvenil, mejor femenina, etc.).
La premiación se realizará al finalizar la última ronda.
9. Casos No Previstos
Cualquier situación no contemplada en este reglamento será resuelta por el Árbitro Principal o el Comité Organizador, cuyas decisiones serán inapelables.

Chess.org World Chess Championship Rules
1. Playing System
The tournament will be played using a 10-round single-elimination system.
Pairing will be done using FIDE-approved software (e.g., Swiss Manager or Vega).
All players must arrive 10 minutes before the start of each round.
2. Time of Play
The time of play will be 25 minutes + 10 seconds increment per move per player.
A digital clock will be used; in case of non-availability, an analog clock will be used.
3. Chess Rules
The tournament will be governed by the FIDE Rules of Chess in Spanish.
Talking, gesturing, or distracting your opponent during the game is prohibited.
The use of cell phones, smartwatches, or other electronic devices is not permitted during the game. Any infraction may result in the loss of the match.
4. Scoring
Win: 1 point
Tie: 0.5 points
Loss: 0 points
5. Tiebreakers (if applicable)
In the event of a tie in the final standings, the following tiebreaker systems will be applied, in the order listed:
Buchholz (sum of opponents' scores)
Average Buchholz (without the best and worst opponents)
Individual result between tied players
Most wins
Draw
6. Behavior and Penalties
Any unsportsmanlike act, disrespectful behavior, or cheating will be penalized.
The head referee has the authority to caution, sanction, or disqualify a player if necessary.
7. Image Rights
The organizers may take photos and videos during the event for promotional use and dissemination.
Participation in the tournament implies acceptance of this point, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
8. Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers and, where applicable, special mentions by category (best junior, best female, etc.).
The awards ceremony will take place at the end of the final round.
9. Unforeseen Cases
Any situation not covered by these rules will be resolved by the Head Referee or the Organizing Committee, whose decisions are final.
